Does PB progs run well in WINE? - Mannish Bhandari - 27.07.2026

I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ffjb0Eq0po

Did anyone try this  try running PB progs in Wine ? and what's your opinions on this WINE ?

Just letting you know that someone saw your post.

I haven't used Linux for 20 years. Never got "a round tuit" to try WINE.

Apparently, the few others who still check-in here don't either.

WINE must be pretty good at most things, or it wouldn't exist anymore.

Cheers,

Thanks for replying!

On the long run I am planning to migrate to Linux Mint Xfce 64-bit. Wine will be the way to go for running all the software I have written in PowerBASIC. This will be a longer project, but I will keep you informed about success and problems.

Cheers,
Albert

Linuxmint.com Wrote:Xfce is a lightweight desktop environment. It doesn’t support as many features as Cinnamon but it’s lighter on resource usage.

I usually prefer light and sleek over feature rich.

It’s been a long while, but I did use PB on linux. I only messed with it a bit but did have it working. Don’t know enough about it to offer any advice or help.
