The Future

I am not going to argue about it.  To me the purpose is unclear.  Perhaps my age is getting in the way.

In other threads there is talk about finding a replacement, which there ain't.  There is also talk about purchasing powerbasic; which one or both and to what end?  Is there anyone here capable enough in ASM to take it to the next level?

The immediate objectives as agreed by the newly formed committee are:
•                          To support the continued use of the PowerBASIC programming language.
•                          To maintain an Internet Discussion Forum (“User Forum”) for users of the PowerBASIC programming language

I personally see the longer term goals as:

• To establish the best way to make the history of the old forum available online (something akin to an online version of Gary's gbThreads?)
  
• To explore the possibility of obtaining the source / rights to the PowerBASIC compilers and the viability of enhancing them either via "open source" or by a team of volunteers..
